More calls for financial support have been made to the Cross River State governor, Senator Bassey Otu, organisations and well meaning Nigerians, to come to the aid of a 24-year old nursing school teacher, Queen Bassey Akpoke.
Akpoke, from Ekureku in Abi Local Government Area of the state, is battling stage III liver and lung cancer.

Her family is struggling under the weight of the mounting medical bills, as her condition continues to deteriorate.
In an interview with TNN on Monday, the Pastor In-Charge of Pentecostal Assemblies, Idan Street, Calabar, Mr. Aniefiok Aaron, sent a save her soul message to political office holders, non-governmental organizations and individuals.
Aaron who described the said health condition of the lady as disheartening noted that, “this is one of the ministries the Holy Spirit empowers us to embark on; saving lives. My heart is broken by this story this morning; a 24-year old lady is full of life, hopeful, focused, can achieve anything but being diagnosed with this kind of health challenge is a terrible one.
“I don’t know her in person, but I will try to locate her. I feel really touched by this, a nursing school teacher at 24? The devil just want to cut her life short but our God will not allow.
“Silver and gold have I not, but I have someone who specializes in healing all manner of diseases, afflictions and sicknesses.”
He said that “while I join in prayers, I want to appeal to our governor, local government chairman, community leaders, everyone that can help to please come to the aid of this young lady who is making great impact and contributing greatly to the lives of people.
“They need financial support, please, let’s help the family to save this life. I want to also call on other men of God, to join in prayers to intercede for this young lady.
“Jeremiah 20:17, God assured us that He will restore healing upon mankind, I declare by that mandate by the special grace of God that the Lord in heaven shall restore healing right now to her, she will recover speedily in Jesus Name.”
Meanwhile, in a Facebook post, the family appealed for urgent intervention to help save their daughter.
The post read, “Queen Bassey Akpoke, a 24-year-old nursing school teacher from Ekureku in Abi Local Government Area, Cross River State, is currently battling stage III liver and lung cancer.
“Her condition is serious, and her family is struggling under the weight of mounting medical bills.
“We are reaching out to compassionate individuals, families, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, and corporate bodies to urgently assist in giving Queen a real chance at survival and recovery.
“Until recently, Queen was living her dream teaching nursing students, preparing to further her studies, and supporting her loved ones. She was full of life, purpose, and ambition. But her journey took a sudden turn when she was diagnosed with aggressive cancer, turning her bright future into a fight for her life.
“Queen’s treatment has been intense and painful. Doctors regularly remove fluid from her lungs to help her breathe procedures that are not only physically draining but financially demanding.
