UNICAL Fire Shocking, Says Student

Students and staff of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University Of Calabar are still in shock, following the fire outbreak that occurred in the school on Saturday night.
Though no casualty was recorded, eye witnesses said “the cause of the fire was still unknown, as the incident occurred in the night.
Eyewitnesses also disclosed that it wasn’t long after the incident occurred that the student union leaders reached to members of the state fire service who mobilized swiftly to the scene and put out the fire.
One of the students who witnessed the incident, Mr Ogar Maxwell said “the fire started in the night. Nobody knows the cause actually for now, because I can’t tell you what I’m not sure of. But there’s no casualty from the fire. It simply burnt the department”.
