Unease, Marathon Prayers in C’River As Tribunal Determines Fate of Otu, Onor
In less than 24 hours, the governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu and his political opponent, Senator Sandy Onor will know their fate as the election tribunal sits to decide their fate on Tuesday.
And, ahead of Tuesday’s judgement, there has been tension in the state, even as supporters of the two camps are said to have been engaging in midnight prayers for God’s intervention on their behalf.
Tribunal: Why C’River PDP, Onor Are Positive As Judgement Day Draws Closer
Onor’s contention is that Otu presented forged academic certificates to INEC ahead of the gubernatorial election and also lied on oath on the schools he attended.
The two contenders are hopeful that the judgement will go their way. Penultimate week, the state information commissioner, Mr Erasmus Ekpang had said expectations were high that Out would win.
Onor’s fans are also hopeful that based on the quality of evidence placed before the tribunal, and considering recent judgements of other tribunals on similar cases, they were sure of victory.
