Shell Pays $79M To NDDC

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited SPDC says it paid $79.77 million to the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, in 2022.

 

According to SPDC, $1.36 corporate taxes and royalties was also paid to Nigerian Government.

 

The operator of the NNPC/SPDC/Total Energies/NAOC Joint Venture also stated that 3,500 university grants and 900 cradle-to-career scholarship grants have been awarded since 2016 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR.

Other projects carried out by SPDC, according to the statement were “ $Im donated for relief to people impacted by the flood disaster as well $34.29 million direct social investment made by SPDC JV SNEPCO and SNG, all in 2022.

On Education, the oil giants said it has carried out $15 million worth of educational infrastructure projects in Lagos and Bayelsa State.”

 

According to Shell, there were also 220 beneficiaries of Shell Live wire entrepreneurship programme, while over 92,000 people benefitted from community health insurance scheme since 2010 and $200 million committed into supporting renewable energy impact investment in the country.

TNN was also informed that $106.3 million was disbursed to communities through GMOUs since 2017 and $1.9 billion  contracts awarded to Nigerian-registered companies in 2022.”

SPDC assured that its relationship with Nigeria remained strong.
