Rivers Varsity Goes Tough On Female Students Without Bra

The management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education IAUE, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, has declared indecent dressing within the school premises unacceptable.
IAUE in a statement by the Dean, Student affairs, Dr. Philemon Wokoma Iyagba, expressed regret that the action by some female students, dressing indecently was distorting the institution’s efforts in striving to maintain a conductive and respectful learning environment.
They lamented that the behaviour was unacceptable as it contradicts the institution’s values and standards.
As a reminder to the students, the institution noted that, “Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Rumuolumeni Port-Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria dress code policy explicitly prohibits indecent dressing including but not limited to revealing or provocative clothing, clothing that exposes excessive skin or body parts.”
According to the institution, other dressings that are unacceptable within the school premises are, “short gowns, skirts and bum-shorts, rough/rugged jeans trousers and skirts, not wearing brassieres.”
The school management further urged all female students to desist from dressing indecently forthwith, whether during the day or at night.
“Failure to comply with these directives would attract disciplinary actions. Please note that students caught would be referred to the University Disciplinary Committee.
“By this notice, all students are expected to adhere to existing University dress code policy and maintain a level of decency and respect for themselves and others. Thank you for your usual cooperation.”
