Following their promotion from superintendent of police to chief superintendent of police, the Rivers State Police command has decorated 18 officers.

Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Irinke-Koko, was among the 18 officers that were officially decorated with the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police CSP, in the State.
Others are Igeny Abbot, Abdullahi Suleiman, Joseph Bawa, Seyi Peter Hawk, Joy Chikezie, Hebron Otuoke, Andrew Onye, Iibinmo Imiete, Patricia Domzhi, Edet Essien of the legal department SCIID Port Harcourt.
Also decorated are Kunle Akanbi, Eraga Godwin, Bekeowei Wellman, Nwachukwu Ukachi, Eboka Rowland, Godwin Igere, Iyator Udeme.
At the event which held on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju tasked the newly decorated officers on dedication and diligence.
According to Adepoju, “to whom much is given much is expected. Justify your new rank and also improve us.
“The new rank comes with responsibility.”
The CP also appreciated dignitaries who graced the occasion.
Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated, the state PPRO thanked the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, for finding them worthy of the promotion.
Irinke-Koko also thanked the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbekotun, for recommending them for the promotion.
Further, she appreciated the state commissioner of police and his management team for their guidance.
She assured that “we will continue to make the police force proud and stick to professionalism, discipline and due diligence in discharge of our duty.”
In attendance were Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee PCRC, Voke Emore, chairman of honourary members of the mess, deputy commissioner of police, finance/administration, Samuel Erale, Deputy Commissioner of Police State CIID Port Harcourt, Lukman Suraji, assistant commissioners of police,tactical unit commanders, relatives of the decorated officers, among several others.
