The Rivers State Police Command, on Friday, confirmed the tragic death of a man electrocuted in Port Harcourt.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, explained that the Police officers in Choba had visited the scene.
According to her, “yes, I can confirm the incident, Police Officers from Choba Police had visited the scene for preliminary investigation.
“Further investigation is still on.
“Corpse of the deceased has been deposited in mortuary.”
TNN learnt that the incident happened on Wednesday at a popular wine bar located at gas turbine road, Rumuekini, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The deceased whose name was given simply as Mr Austin is an electrical technician from Kogi State.
He was reported to have been electrocuted while carrying out repair work in the ceiling of the facility.
Following the incident, staff of the bar were thrown into confusion while concerned neighbours raised alarm which prompted the management of the wine bar to make formal complaint at the Choba Police Division.
Officers were immediately drafted to the scene to retrieve the corpse and carry out on the spot assessment of the scene.
