Mr. Chimenem Bobo Worlu led National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN, Rivers State chapter, has reassured the pro-Wike Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule and 24 other lawmakers of their support.
The factional chairman of NYCN in the state gave this reassurance in an interview with TNN, where he expressed satisfaction with the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja, dismissing a suit seeking an order sacking the seats of the 27 members of the State House of Assembly loyal to the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike.
He insisted that the state has only one speaker; Amaewhule, and passed a vote of confidence on him.
Worlu while commending the speaker noted that “Rivers State has no two speakers, we only have one speaker, RT. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule.”
He assured the pro-Wike speaker that “Rivers youths are behind you, we urge you to stand firm in making your laws and also guiding the land. We voted for you, you are there to serve us and you are serving us very well, no amount of intimidation should push you around, Rivers youths are behind you.
“We want to assure you that every attempt again to threaten the 27 lawmakers of this state, they will have us to contend with. We want to assure the 27 house of assembly law members; we voted them, Rivers people voted them so we want to ask them to be firm and continue to fight the course of the rightful justice they are fighting.
“We promise them that Rivers people are with them and we will continue to defend them until the law says otherwise. They are the lawmakers duly elected by Rivers people, enough of this humiliation from the governor.”
