Rivers NAWOJ Celebrates Release Of Her Member From Kidnappers Den

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Rivers State have appreciated the Almighty God for His grace upon the life of her member Chidiebere Onyia who was kidnapped on the 9th of February, 2021 and released on February 14, 2021.
This is part of the welfare visits of the association to her members led by the newly elected chairperson, Mrs Susan Serekana Nwikinah to encourage and identify with them in their moments of affliction.
While narrating her ordeal, Onyia who is a staff of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA Port Harcourt could only sing praises to God for granting her freedom.
She thanked the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr Paulinus Nsirim and the Commissioner of Police for their efforts in facilitating her release from her abductors.
Earlier in her remarks, NAWOJ Chairperson, decried the rate of kidnapping of women who have greatly contributed to the growth of the society. She described the act as a conspiracy. She encouraged Chidiebere to be strong and not to be traumatized by her ordeal.
The Chairperson also handed over a little token to Chidiebere as welfare package from the Association.
