Rivers Guber Race: How We Will Mobilise Ogoni Votes For NDC

It will be difficult for votes from Ogoni land to escape to other political parties, other than the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, the deputy gubernatorial candidate of the party in Rivers State, Dr. Mike Nwielaghi has said.

Nwielaghi, in making the pledge and commitment to the party that has found him worthy to be the running mate to Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, ahead of the 2027 general elections, promised to mobilised his people for victory in all the elections.

Nwielaghi, a lawyer, was appointed and ratified by the national secretariat of the NDC and has already been formally received by the party’s flag bearer in the state.

In a statement in Port Harcourt to mark his official response to the party’s gesture, Nwielaghi appreciated God for using men to put him in the position.

He particularly thanked the NDC’s National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson and LuLu Briggs for the confidence reposed in him and promised never to take the benevolence of the party for granted.

Nwielaghi said he was accepting the offer with his full chest, knowing the expectations and challenges ahead of next year’s general elections and pledged his unalloyed loyalty and unflinching support and cooperation with the governorship candidate.

He also called for unity and joint efforts amongst the NDC members in order to attract more supporters and followers, reminding them of the party’s ultimate goal, which is to win all the elections in 2027, while also urging aggrieved members of the party to sheathe their swords and work for the overall interest of the party.
