The Councillor, Ward 10 in Omademe/Ipo, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chinedu Clifford Ohahuru, has described as fallacious, the assertion by Mr. Gozie Frank Azunda, that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, will fail in the ward, in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
Azunda, a youth leader and APC party faithful believes that the governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has not done well enough to deserve the support of the people of Omademe/Ipo for his successor and party.
According to him, the alleged dilapidated state of public schools in the area, as well as purported terrible road condition, unavailability of infrastructural development, and non-inclusion in appointments, are some among other reasons he posited that PDP will score zero vote in the ward.

Reacting to these claims, Ohahuru, the ward councillor who spoke with TNN in an exclusive interview said that Wike has fixed for the people what his predecessor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi did not do.
According to him, “ask that person, has he ever won election in any polling unit in Omademe/Ipo? Ask the same person, does he know how many polling units that is in Omademe/Ipo? Ask the person, has APC ever won election in Omademe/Ipo since 2015? Be it re-run, the main election, even re-re-run, have they won election? Ask them that question, you can’t win election by criticizing people, if you are not on ground, you are not on ground.
“He said PDP cannot win election in Ward 10, my sister, we have been winning elections in Omademe and Ipo, talk more of now that our own son is running for the assembly, somebody from Omademe and Ipo is running for the assembly election, and somebody from APC is saying that we will not win, we have even collected all of them from APC, as I speak to you, the leader of APC in ward 10, Dr. Benjamin Odevo is now working with us in PDP, ask the person, who was his former leader? Infact, who is even his leader in APC now?
“Ask him, who is even his leader in APC because APC is divided into two in Ward 10, we have the one led by Tasie Amadi, we have the one led by Chizi Nwobodo, which one does he belong to? Now, some persons in APC have moved from APC to SDP, so where does he belong to, has he ever heard that anybody decamped from PDP to APC, or from PDP to SDP? We are intact.”
On issues raised regarding the state of public schools in Omademe/Ipo, Ohahuru said, “Omademe has community secondary school, Junior and senior, Ipo has community secondary school junior and senior, so, which one are they talking about? Omademe secondary school is not covering Ipo, it’s covering only Omademe, Ipo has their own junior secondary school and senior secondary school, as I talk to you now, under my government, the state government gave it to us.
“I agree with you that Omademe and Ipo are in one ward, two communities in one ward but I disagree with you that we have one secondary school, it’s a lie, we have community secondary school Omademe, we have Community secondary school in Ipo. So, whoever is carrying such news is not aware of what is happening in Omademe and Ipo.
“Since that school was built by Omademe Community, Amaechi who is our brother has been a speaker for eight years, he couldn’t remember the school, Amaechi has been governor too for eight years yet couldn’t remember the school, the only person that has remembered the school is Hon. Prince Nyeche who served as a councilor between 2007 and 2009, he remembered and built eleven classroom blocks in that school, as I speak to you now the school is there, as I am speaking to you now, Indorama Petrochemical is building another structure in that same school, so, if they don’t have information they should come to the village or go to the school and get the real information, I am a serving councilor, I go to Omademe everyday, I go to Ipo everyday to get information myself, people will just sit down in the comfort of their houses and give fake information.”
