A member of the House of Representatives from the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency of Cross River State, Dr Alex Egbona has urged his constituents to take advantage of the window opened by INEC to register and obtain their PVCs ahead of the 2023 elections.
Egbona who emerged consensus candidate of the APC for the election said it was important for all the people to obtain their PVC and get ready for the election, saying it was only with their PVC that they could demonstrate how they loved and appreciated what he achieved for them during his first term in the National Assembly.
“I have heard and seen you express your love towards me. Most of you, my constituents, have also vowed to ensure I return as your representative in the House of Representatives. But if you do not have your PVC, whatever you wish me will become a mere wishful thinking.
“I am therefore urging you to go to the nearest registration point and register, obtain your PVC, keep it very safe and get ready to vote when the time comes. Social media campaign is good but we cannot win this election only through your social media posts. You need to have your PVC to be able to vote,” Egbona stated in an interview.
He also urged those who may have lost their PVCs to approach INEC for instructions on what to do. But he advised that such people should not contemplate registering afresh, as that would amount to criminal offence.
He urged community, opinion and traditional leaders from the area to mobilise and sensitize their people to go out en masse to register, even as he promised to do much more for his people as he returns to the House in 2023.
Egbona said he was sure of victory at the general elections and expressed gratitude to the APC for finding him worthy to fly its flag for a second term election. he said he would not disappoint the party, neither would he disappoint the Abi/Yakurr people.
