Panic at NDDC as Ag. EDFA Dies

There is an atmosphere of shock, grief and confusion at the Niger Delta Development Commission, as the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Mr Bassey Ibanga died on Thursday morning.
It was not immediately clear what may have killed him. But there were fears that the EDFA may have died of COVID-19 related ailment.
Spokesman of the commission, Charles Odili however told TNN on Thursday morning that he had no information in the death.
However, one of his personal aides confirmed that the man died this morning.
TNN learnt that there has been panic in the commission as officisals fear that if he died of COVID-19, then some staff of the commission may have also been infected without knowing.
There were fears, that some people in the ministry of Niger Delta Affairs may also have been infected, if it turned out that the man died of the virus.
Calls to the chief press secretary to the minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Anietie Ekong were not answered on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, the remains of the chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government of Rivers State were buried on Thursday morning, less than 24 hours after his death, allegedly by raced to COCID-19.
