Otu Seeks Partnership With C’River NUJ

All progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu has initiated the processes of a partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in the state.
The candidate who paid a visit to journalists at the Etim Bassey Press Centre Calabar, acknowledged how committed the union had been and said state council was an inevitable partner in the day-to-day governance of the state.

He expressed the willingness to carry the union along in his bid to take over the governorship of Cross River state, in 2023. According to him, “any government that abandons this constituency (NUJ) does so at its own risk. These are the people who sell whatever is the blueprint or programme of any government.
“They can do and they can also undo, hence we need to carry them along in all the things that we do. I am the candidate of the All progressives Congress and we are ready to turn this state around.

“NUJ are partners in progress. It is only good that we begin to work very early because there is a lot to do. I’m not here for politics because they have not lifted the ban yet.
Responding, the state NUJ chairman, Mr Nsa Gill said that the union was facing numerous challenges and that a lot needed to be done to move the state and the state council forward to its desired height. He sued for more collaboration for the betterment of the electorate.
