The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Rivers State council, has commended the governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for creating a conducive environment for journalists in the state to thrive.
The union gave this commendation on Tuesday, in their felicitation message to the governor on his 50th birthday celebration.
NUJ in a statement by the state caretaker chairman, Elder Anya Godpower Lekia and secretary, Mr. Boma Waribor, thanked Fubara for his commitment to the development of state.
According to them, “we appreciate your administration’s efforts in promoting transparency and accountability, which have created a conducive environment for Journalists to thrive.
“Your support for press freedom and the safety of Journalists in Rivers State is truly commendable.
“As you mark your Golden Jubilee Anniversary, we pray that God grants you continued good health, wisdom, and strength to lead our State to greater heights for the ultimate good of the people.”
They prayed that the governor’s birthday “be filled with joy, love, and cherished moments with family and friends.”
