No Vote Should Drop For PDP At Ekureku Rerun, Says C’River APC
2 min readAhead of the rerun in Ekureku, Abi Local Government, for the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Chairman of the APC in Cross River State, John Ochala has said that the Ekureku people should endeavour to ensure that all votes go to Dr Alex Egbona, their current representative in the National Assembly.
Ochala has also spoken of the readiness of the party for the January 25, 2020 rerun. He spoke in an online interview with TNN.
According to him, “the APC is ready for the rerun elections for Abi state constituency and Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency.
“We expect INEC and Security operatives to be as impartial and professional as required of them by law and for them to uphold the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
“We expect the good people of Ekureku not to point to their father’s house with the left finger, meaning that all registered voters should come out enmasse to support their son, Dr.Alex Egbona and they should not lose any vote to someone else.”
The chairman also spoke on the local government election which is to hold in the state next year. According to him, “My fears are that Governor Ayade seems to be more reckless by the day. How can he dissolve boards and commissions in the state and months later get CROSIEC to announce Local government elections without reconstituting the boards and commissions?
“The constitution stipulates a minimum of 90 days notice before any general elections could be held. CROSIEC notice falls short of this provision and if any law is inconsistent with the constitution of Nigeria, the constitution takes precedence. Ayade is a desperate man looking for ways and means to legalize his illegal deductions from council purse.”
