Newly Ordained Bishop Speaks On Emmah Isong’s Character

Bishop Philip Tom, the Port Harcourt branch pastor of the Christian Central Chapel International, CCCI, who has worked with Archbishop Emmah Isong for decades, has spoken on the character of the celebrated Calabar cleric.

Tom said in an online interview on the sidelines of his bishopric ordination and consequent installation that Isong, who is the national vice president, south south, of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, and General Overseer of CCCI, is a disciplinarian who does not tolerate nonsensical behaviours.

Penultimate week, Tom was formally presented to his Port Harcourt congregation by Isong, after the ordination which took place at the headquarters of the CCCI in Calabar.

Tom told TNN in the interview that working closely with Isong was an eye opener. He said the archbishop had guided and mentored him to the extent that it would be difficult for him to make mistakes in the course of his ministry as a pastor.

Tom said apart from the humble disposition he had learnt from Isong, “the office of a bishop makes me humble, careful and more disciplined.

“A bishop’s office comes with higher responsibilities; you become an example of a true Christian leader in church, the community you find yourself and the world at large. I have seen these in the life of my father and leader, Archbishop Emmah Isong and I am doing my best to follow his footsteps.”

He said he was ready to do the work of a bishop and win more people to the Kingdom of God, open, get into a new level of honor and also work towards opening more branches of the church in Port Harcourt.

“More honour brings more productivity. So, with this new office, I will do much more for God. I will be more productive for the kingdom,” he said.
