The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of the Zone-16 Police Command, Eborka Friday has resumed duty with a charge to officers and men to be disciplined at all times.
Friday, who spoke while interacting with officers and men of the command comprising Rivers and Bayelsa states with headquarters in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, described discipline as the bedrock of the police force.

He stressed the need of personnel of the command to exhibit self discipline, saying that a personnel who exhibits self discipline would not be reminded of their duties as this would translate to respect for constituted authorities.
“Those who know me very well will attest that I don’t joke with discipline. Policemen must be disciplined and you must know how to relate with members of the public.
“Discipline is the bedrock of the police force and without discipline, we will not all be here, without discipline a constable will walk up to the AIG and say stand up I want to take over your seat.”
The AIG assured residents of Bayelsa and Rivers of his determination to work with the people to ensure that there is better policing and that peace and orderliness prevail.

Until his appointment as AIG in charge of Zone 16, he was the commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command.
Friday, the fourth AIG of Police to serve in the zone, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State.
