Manager of Demolished Rivers Hotel, 26 Others Infected With COVID-19

Manager of Prodest Hotel, the hotel that was recently demolished in Eleme, Rivers State by Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers State is among the new COVID-19 positive cases recorded in the state as reported on Sunday.

The state commissioner for information, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim who announced announced this on Sunday noted that a total of 27 new cases were recorded against the state. He said the state was working hard to contain further spread of the virus in Rivers State.

Recall that Prodest Hotel was demolished two weeks ago because the owners violated Executive Order 7 which banned the operation of hotels.

The COVID-19 Taskforce members from the Local Government who went to enforce the Executive Order were brutalized and dehumanised leading to the death of one of them.
