Mammoth Crowd Welcomes David Lyon As APC Takes Campaign To Dickson’s Home

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken its November 16 governorship campaigns to Sagbama local government area, home of the out going governor and leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa state, Mr. Seriake Dickson amid an overwhelming reception of the APC candidate, Chief David Lyon.
At, Sagbama town, headquarters of the local government, a massive, jubilatant crowd waited patiently to receive the APC standard bearer as Pereama Freetown and other Izon musical icons were on hand to thrill the audience.
On his arrival at the venue of the rally, the APC flagbearer had to struggle hard to acknowledge cheers from the enthusiastic crowd who clustered him as he and his running mate, Senator Eremienyo Degi moved round the venue before taking their seats.
Addressing the audience, Lyon said he was propelled by the passion to pull Bayelsans from the claws of poverty and underdevelopment, which, according to him, were occasioned by the PDP led government under governor Dickson.
“Bye-bye to poverty!, poverty is not our portion” Lyon affirmed, saying “Bayelsa’s money is not David Lyon’s money. We cannot continue to allow one man to manipulate our common resources”
The APC candidate asserted that the candidacy of the PDP, Senator Douye Diri amounted to a third term for governor Dickson.
Speaking further, he said “this PDP government has ruled this state for seven and half years. Look at Sagbama, is there any development? Is there raod? Sagbama people, is there light? Do you have water?
“This government has made our people poor. There is insecurity everywhere. That is why investors cannot come. In our incoming government, we will provide security and investors will come. In this our incoming government, we are going to empower the women and the youths.
“Look at the general hospital, it has been submerged. Look at COE, no accredition. When we come in, we are going to look into it positively.”
High point of the event was the defection of Senator John Brambaifa and a host of other PDP members from Sagbama local government area to the APC.
