Ibom Youth FC Now On Fire, Says Coach

As the Nigeria National League 2 B campaign hots up in the country, the Chairman of Ibom Youth Football Club of Uyo, one of the teams in the race, Mr. Lawrence Iquaibom says they are working round the clock to ensuring that the Uyo-based club will be among the teams that will feature in the super-eight at the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively with TNN Sports, the chairman said having provided the players with all their basic needs including their monthly salaries and other entitlements, it is now left for them to reciprocate that gesture by putting up their best during matches.
Lawrence Iquaibom who was an ex-Olympian and weightlifting sensation in his hey days told TNN Sports that they have honoured all their away matches and they are not doing badly in their overall assessments having won three matches, lost two and drew the rest in the competition that is played on home and away basis.
TNN Sports gathered that Ibom Youth FC of Uyo which was formed in 2016 is among the five clubs currently sponsored by the Akwa Ibom State government. Others include the Akwa United and Dakada FC of Uyo who are campaigning in the elite division.
There is also Cofine FC of Ikot Ekpene as well as Ibom Angels of Uyo.
Ibom Youth FC, it would be recalled plays their home matches in Ikot Ekpene and also train there ahead of their engagements.
