Golden Eaglets Storm Morocco For U-17 AFCON

After a long period of preparation, the Nigeria Under-17 junior national team, the Golden Eaglets are in Morocco for the 2021 Africa Under-17 Cup of Nations.
The championship which will kick off on Saturday, March 13 through 31st, 2021 pitch the Golden Eaglets against Tanzania, Congo and Algeria in Group B while Morocco, the host country will trade tackles with Uganda, Cote d’ Ivoire and Zambia in Group A
Senegal, Cameroon, South Africa and Mali will pitch battle in Group C.
For 19 days, teams from 12 African countries will be playing a round Robbin tournament of 24 games in three centres across Morocco with the two finalists expected to clash in the final game scheduled for the Morocco capital city of Rabat on March 31st.

The object of this emotion is the solid gold trophy, which will be at stake.
It would be recalled that the competition was originally designed to serve as qualifiers for the 2021 FIFA Under-17 world cup to be held in Peru but was cancelled by the world football governing body due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Actually the best four finishers would have represented the continent at the world Cup.
And despite their poor outing in recent times, the Golden Eaglets still remain a team to beat in the global stage having won the U-17 world cup five times.
