Fubara To Wike: Allow For Peace, No Need To Burn Rivers Down

Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara on Monday night made startling revelations on a a day that some persons suspected to have been against the inauguration of new local government chairmen in the state razed down some council secretariats.

Fubara was guest on Channels TV interview programme, via zoom, where he spoke of his efforts to settle the rift between him and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The governor who sounded emotional at some point said he had even knelt down before his former boss to beg him.

Saying that the peace of Rivers State was paramount for him, the governor begged Wike to let peace reign.

Speaking directly to the former governor, Fubara told him that there was no point setting the state on fire because he would govern and leave for others to succeed him and noted that if the entire state is allowed to go up in flames, there would be no place to called Rivers State for anyone to control.

When asked who was the leader in Rivers State, Fubara laughed, then said he did not know and was not in the mood to drag the leadership position with anyone, adding that all that mattered to him was the peace of Rivers State.

Fubara was brought into the interview session after Bode George, a chieftain of the PDP and Ms Annkio Briggs were already being interviewed.

Before Fubara came in, Bode George had said that Fubara remained the PDP leader in the state and urged the president, Bola Tinubu to ensure that calm returned to the state and Wike called to order.
