For his poor ball handling during the Super Eagles World Cup Qualifying game against Lesotho, Stanley Nwabali came under verbal attacks at the Victor Attah International Airport on Sunday morning.
The football loving Akwa Ibom youths who were at the airport to receive the team joyfully welcomed other members of the Nigerian team, but as Nwabali emerged, they booed him, waring him to be careful as he features for the country during the make-or-mar outing against Benin Republic.
One supporter, visibly unhappy with his recent performance, shouted, “No do that kind mistake again o!” — a remark that drew laughter from a few bystanders but left the Chippa United shot-stopper looking visibly dejected as he walked quietly towards the team bus.
