Esu Showers Encomium On Anglican Clergy

Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ivara Esu has described His Grace, The Most Reverend Tunde Adeleye as a dedicated and committed servant of God whom God has used to impact so much in the lives of many Christians, the University of Calabar Community and the Society at large.

He said this in a goodwill message at the Diocesan Valedictory Service in honour of the Archbishop of Ecclesiastical Province of Niger Delta, Calabar Deanery and his Wife, Ezinne Lady Dorathy Tunde-Adeleye,JP, held at the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Calabar Road, Calabar.

 

He thanked Reverend Adeleye for assisting him to succeed as Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar through his fatherly disposition and prayers for the institution.

The Deputy Governor recalled that his inspirational style of preaching and mentorship while as Chaplain at the Unical Chapel of Redemption caused many students to turn their lives to God. He noted that the prayers of His Grace engendered rapid development of the University in the area of aesthetics, infrastructure and unprecedented peace.

 

In her testimony, the first female and 11th Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi said Adeleye is a distinguished alumnus of the University of Calabar and one who had touched the lives of young men and women of the University community when he was the Chaplain of Unical Chapel of Redemption. She also pointed that Reverend and Lady Adeleye dedicated their lives in the service of God and Humanity.

Earlier in a homily, Ven. John O. Ukah highlighted the role of His Grace, The Most Rev. Adeleye in the expansion of the Anglican Church in the State, stressing that he was fill with the Holy Ghost and spoke the word of God with boldness. He urged leaders across all facet of life to seek God’s kingdom first and should endeavour to impact the lives of those they govern.

While appreciating the August audience, the celebrant expressed gratitude to the Church for the honour done him and his wife who is the President of Women/Girl’s Ministries, Province of Niger Delta/Diocese of Calabar.

He advised the people to cooperate with the new Priest who is coming in and urged them to open their minds to work with him for the expansion of the church and God’s kingdom and to accord him similar cooperation they gave him throughout his stay.

In the entourage of the Deputy Governor was his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs Omotunde Ivara Esu, Special Assistant, CRBC, Elder Patrick Ogar and Former Commissioner for Finance, Rev. Dr. Takis Caiafas, among other dignitaries.
