Emohua Chair Approves Onkpova/Mgbere Road Construction

Residents of Ibaa community, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have expressed relief, following the approval of the construction of Onkpova/Mgbere Road.
Chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, approved the construction of the road, to rehabilitate it from its dilapidated state.
Officials of the local government works department have been mobilized to site for the commencement of preliminary works on the approved road project.
The Chief Press Secretary to the chairman, Bright Jossy-Elendu, explained that the commencement of preliminary works on the road was, “in fulfillment of the council chairman’s promise to the people of Ibaa community during his induction into the central bank age grade of Ibaa, which was subsequently reiterated during the conferment of chieftaincy recognition on Dr. Chidi Lloyd as the ‘Eze Ihe 1 of Ibaa’ by the paramount ruler of Uvuahu, HRH Eze Dr. Jonah Wobodo on behalf of Ibaa community in November 2021.”

In a telephone interview with TNN, Elder Adol Ndubuisi described the project when completed as an answer to prayers.
Adol said, “we are indeed grateful, especially now that the rainy season has come. This road is very important to all of us. When it rains it is usually difficult to access easily. Both vehicle and bike, even ordinary bicycle, it’s difficult.
“We thank the council boss, he has indeed tried. You know, when government fail us, we cry that they have failed, when they do well too, we should say that they have done well, so, chairman, you have done well.
“Ofcourse, there are so many other areas we need help from government, many. But let’s just say we are grateful to have been remembered through this road. It is a good one, it will relieve us of the suffering we have been going through, thank you.”
