Egbona Boosts Education with New Classroom Block in Ediba

In reaffirming his commitment to advancing education and improving learning infrastructure in the community, member representing Abi/Yakurr in the House of Representatives, Dr. Alex Egbona, has put smiles in the faces of the people of his constituency with the commissioning of a block of six classrooms at Ediba.

The newly completed classrooms are designed to provide a conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers, reduce overcrowding, and enhance the overall quality of education.

On arrival at the facility, the pupils treated the MP to a rousing welcome, by a welcome address presented by Miss Success Charles, a Primary 5 pupil of the school, welcoming the MP and his entourage, as well as highlighting the challenges faced by the school, ranging from lack of toilet facility, sporting equipment, library and fencing for the Premises of the school to prevent intruders. This was immediately followed by a special rendition from the pupils of the school.

Elder Ejom Ejom, a community leader, appreciated the MP and noted that this project is one of the indices of development. He used the medium to appeal for more projects to be Facilitated to the council ward by the MP and promised that the Council ward will unanimously return the MP of Parliament to the green chambers come 2027, if he chooses to run.

The PTA Chairman of the School, Chief Odohi, thanked the MP, and appeal for a toilet facility in the school premises, he also appeal for computers for the school.

Speaking at the commissioning, Egbona promises to pay the school fees of Success Charles for her secondary education, a pupil of the school, who read the welcome address. The MP used the opportunity to reconcile and forgive one of his friend and former colleague, who they served as councillors together.

He promised to turn the centre to a Jamb CBT Center, provide toilet facility for the school. For the fencing of the school, he promised to work hand in gloves with the Council chairman. Dr Alex Egbona promised to rehabilitate the moribond health center at the entrance of the community and make it functional before December 2026.

Highlight of the visit was the distribution of exercise books to pupils of the school.

By way of closing remark a political leader of the ward Elder Eja Igwe, thanked the MP and asked that a resident doctor be sent to the community and also the MP should help rehabilitate the skills acquisition center in the community.

A brief stop over at the moribond health facility at the entrance of the community, which the MP promised to make functional before December 2026. On the spot he cleared a medical bill of a male patient receiving treatment in the facility.

In all investing in education remains a top priority, noting that quality learning facilities are essential for nurturing future leaders. The school project was warmly received by residents, who described it as a timely intervention that will positively impact education in Ediba and surrounding communities.
