Driver Arrested Over Couple’s Murder In Abuja

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Benneth Igweh, has confirmed the arrest of an auto mechanic, Jonathan Marcus over the murder of a couple.
80-year-old Mr Adebola Ezekiel and his 79-year-old wife were gruesomely murdered at their residence at Apo Legislative Quarters in Abuja on March 31, 2024.
Marcus, who often worked as a chauffeur to the elderly couple was said to have been arrested and paraded among several suspects.
The CP during a press conference on Friday revealed that “the police began an investigation immediately and were able to arrest the suspect, a former driver to the deceased couple.
“Police detectives trailed the suspect and arrested him in his hideout in Obajana, Kogi.”
According to Igweh, “the suspect confessed to having gained access to the house on the same date, slit the deceased’s throats, and made away with the couple’s phones and Automated Teller Machine cards.”
He added that upon the conclusion of the investigation all the suspects would be charged in court.
