The Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri, has charged relevant ministries on timely completion of the Ultra-Modern Stadium, in Igbogene.
Diri gave this charge on Wednesday, while congratulating Team Bayelsa for making the state proud.
The governor revealed that the state has started bidding process for the hosting of the 2028 sports festival.
The Bayelsa helmsman rewarded gold medalists from the 2024 National Sports festival in Ogun State with the sum of N1,000,000.00 each.
All silver and bronze medalists are to receive the sum of N500,000.00 and N300,000.00 respectively.
Winners of team events were equally rewarded as well as medals winning officials.
Receiving the contingent led by the Commissioner for Sports Development, Mr. Daniel Igali, Diri who described the third position announced by organisers of the games as not the true position of the Bayelsa performance charged the athletes to begin immediate preparation for a better outing in the next games billed to hold in Enugu State.
