Some youths from the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency of Cross River State have benefitted from another round of training programme initiated by the House of Representatives member from the constituency, Dr Alex Egbona.
They were trained in various aspects of skills acquisition, including fashion, confectionaries and show making. The trainees drawn from the two local governments were also assisted with starter packs and cash, to enable them start up.
Just last month, about 600 youths and women from the constituency benefitted from a week-long training on poultry and fish farming.
The latest training which took place in Calabar also coincided with the presentation of desktop and laptop computers to principals of seven selected schools in the two local governments that make up the constituency.
The secondary schools whose principals got the computers to assist them in their work were public schools in Egboronyi, Imabana, Ekureku, Ediba, Idomi and Ekori.
Beneficiaries of the training programme as well as the principals expressed appreciation to the legislator for his large heart and commitment to the empowerment and education of his people.
