Covid-19 : Rivers Community Markets remain Shut, Youth leader excited

The leadership of Eneka Youth Congress, EYC, in Eneka Clan of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has commended traders in the clan over what they described as total compliance to the order by the Rivers State government that all markets in the state be shut down.
The EYC President General, Comrade Loveday Opurum who spoke on behalf of the Eneka sensitization team made this remark today shortly after a tour round the clan to monitor compliance by traders of the various markets within the clan.
Opurum told TNN that regardless of the inconvenience the traders, their family and residents of the clan has to go through, they adhered to the instruction, thereby shutting down markets in the area.

According to him, “We are very excited, this shows that we have people that are listening and adhering to government’s directives even when it affects them in some way.
“Truly it has not been easy, we have always been on the field just like today, so far the corporation is commendable, we appreciate them and pray that this be over sooner than expected.
He added that, “we also want to advise residents of Eneka Clan to adhere to the preventive measures, we have to do our parts, clean our surroundings, wash our hands more regular than ever, observe social distancing, sneeze with your elbow, use face mask, glove, and most importantly stay at home.
“It’s not so easy, but prevention they say is much better than cure.”
