COVID-19: Excitement in Imo Community as Natives Donate Palliatives to Less Privileged
1 min readThere has been excitement in Ogberuru Town in the Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, where Chief E.C Obi, the Onwa 1 of Ogberuru, in partnership with the Ogberuru Development Association based in the United States of America, donated rice to the less privileged in the community.
While Obi who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Maobison Group and Polima Industries Limited donated 250 bags of Rice, natives of the community under the umbrella of ODA who are based in the US donated 284 bags of rice.
The community dwellers who benefitted from the palliatives prayed for God’s blessing for the donors and promised to ensure that all the needy shared from the goodies. They said it was a good way of cushioning the effects of the lingering COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the indigenes who resides in Port Harcourt, Mr Remi Nwakuya told TNN that the gesture was not just commendable but worthy of emulation by other sons and daughters of the community.
He hailed the donors for their kind gesture and thoughtfulness, even as he prayed God to bless them for remembering the orphans, widows and other less privileged people in the community at this time of global tragedy.
