2 min readThere has been excitement in the Eneka Clan in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, following the award of leadership excellence presented to the Community Development Committee Chairman, Bestman Worlu by the Rumuoji Youth Association, barely two months in office.
Worlu who happens to be the youngest chairman the clan has ever produced, was a former Youth president of the Rumuoji Community.
Speaking during the presentation of award, leader of the group, Samson Iyo announced that the recognition was to appreciate the chairman and his executive committee for their vision and drive aimed at salvaging the community and also to encourage them to do more.
Iyo said “like the popular saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected. This award was born out of the need to encourage our prestigious, capacity, youngest mayor to always place the interest of the good people of Eneka as top priority.
“Eneka is in dire need of passionate, zealous, result oriented leaders, only such persons can pilot this clan to the much desired height. Eneka deserves to be better developed than this. We desire growth, construction of our internal roads, organizing of programmes that will enable our mothers, fathers, youth and children acquire skills capable of putting food on their table.
Describing the chairman as leadership personified, Iyo said “the CDC chairman is a proactive and visionary leader, who’s working tirelessly to making sure that there’s repaid development across the clan via his actionable programs and policies in less than two months in office.
He added that the resumption of official activities in the civic centre through the opening of the new CDC office is a great achievement not just for the CDC but for the entire clan at large.
Responding, the Chairman acknowledged the effort of the leadership of Eneka Youth Congress for his vision and good leadership style, noting that they are working closely to putting the clan in the right direction.
Further, he commended the Iyo led Oji youth for uniting the youths and making sure that peace was sustained within the community while promising partnering with them in all their programmes when called upon.
