CAN Sets Modalities For Worship in C’River

Following the pronouncement by Cross River State governor, Prof. Ben Ayade directing the resumption of religious activities in the state, state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has given guidelines for worship activities.
This was contained in a release by CAN made available to newsmen in the state stating that the guidelines are to ensure the safety of Christians in the state while they carry out their worship activities.
According to the statement, a distance of two meters must be maintained between worshipers at every public worship. It added that each church should set up a monitoring team to enforce all COVID-19 laws and that any worshipper without a nose mask should not be allowed into the worship venue.
It also discouraged the use of fans and air conditioners to prevent the spread of viral pathogens, advising that all windows and doors should be left open for adequate ventilation.
“Every congregation should provide buckets with running water and soap or sanitisers at the entrances of worship places”, the statement reads in part, urging all religious leaders to engage their members in constant education to enlighten them on the preventive measures to be taken to safe from the coronavirus.
