The Bayelsa State government has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling malnutrition and improving maternal, infant and young child nutrition across the state.
The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe stated this during a courtesy visit to his office in Yenagoa by a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The commissioner noted that the government of governor Douye Diri tagged Prosperity Administration, will continue to invest in the wellbeing of mothers and children.
He maintained that the government will continue to collaborate with development partners to reduce child malnutrition and strengthen healthcare delivery across the state.
Brisibe also welcomed the State government’s proposed partnership with UNICEF and the management of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints in advancing nutrition interventions.
