By John Odhe, YENAGOA

Following the breakdown of law and order in Biseni community in Yenagoa Local Government Area, the governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has placed the community under a 24-hour curfew.

TNN had reported that the Bayelsa State Police command led by the Police Commissioner, Mr. Ajao Adewale alongside the Mayor of Yenagoa, Mr. Bulodisiye Ndiwari had visited the Buseni community and advised the aggrieved persons to down tools and toe the path of dialogue.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, the directive is with immediate effect.

Diri gave the order on Friday after receiving briefings from security commanders on the state of security in the community, where some unscrupulous elements had barricaded roads into and within the town making bonfires.

The Bayelsa governor also directed security operatives to ensure that law and order, peace and security was restored in the community.

He advised responsible members of the community to remain law-abiding as the government will continue to take measures to guarantee the safety of lives and property in Biseni.
