Bayelsa D’Gov Advocates Brotherly Love Amidst Political Differences

By John Odhe, YENAGOA

The Bayelsa State deputy governor, Dr Peter Akpe, has asked politicians in the state to let love, peace and unity reign over their political interests.

The call is coming on the heels of heightened political activities following the lifting of embargo on campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in preparation for the forthcoming 2027 general election.

The deputy governor is reminding politicians in the state not to allow politics to create division but rather be conscious of their common ancestry and brotherhood in whatever they do, despite their respective political beliefs.

Akpe gave the charge in an exemplary gesture when he visited the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate running for the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency seat at the National Assembly, Chief Selekebina Saboh, at his residence in Yenagoa, to identify with him on his 53rd birthday anniversary.

The deputy governor, who is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) urged the political class not to forget that they were brothers before politics, congratulating Saboh on his birthday anniversary and prayed God to bless him.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the deputy governor, Mr. Doubara Atasin, the birthday celebrator, Saboh, commended the exemplary leadership style of the deputy governor while thanking him and his entourage for the visit.

Saboh enjoined other politicians to emulate the deputy governor by avoiding bitterness in their political aspirations in order to make politics attractive.
