Candidate of the APC in Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva has pointed accusing fingers at the Army, saying they are working with the PDP to cause mayhem in Yenagoa.
This came after the governor, Senator Douye Diri had accused the APC of denying PDP members the right to vote in Opu Nembe.
Sylva spoke in his home town shortly after casting his vote. He told journalists that there were efforts to disenfranchise about 5000 voters from his unit, before it was discovered that the voters register was not uploaded.
According to him, complaints were made to INEC in Abuja and that the commission admitted that it was a mistake. But he said he suspected that his opponents must have done it to undo him in his unit.
He also said that one of his supporters was injured in Yenagoa, but did not give details.
But the PDP has repeatedly accused the APC of sponsoring thugs that went about hijacking election materials in parts of Yenagoa, Sagbama and Southern Ijaw.
