Fresh from the venue of his inauguration as FCT minister, Chief Nyesom Wike on Monday announced that he will step on toes while performing the functions of his new office.

Addressing journalists in his office, Wike said he has secured the permission of the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore sanity in the nation’s capital and that in the course of the work, he would go after those who did not comply with extant laws of the land.

He listed some of the people that he would confront in the days to come-those with undeveloped plots of lands, those with abandoned building projects, land speculators, those who have refused to pay ground rents as and when due, illegal motor park and market operators, cattle rearers and commercial motor cycle operators

The minister said he would replicate what he did in Rivers State where he served as governor for eight years in the FCT and said what Mallam Nasir El-Rufai did in Abuja when he demolished buildings considered to be illegally constructed will be a child’s play, compared to what he would do.

According to him, everybody in the FCT would have a taste of his venom as long as they flouted the laws and went against the Abuja master plan. He reminded Abuja people that he was no respected of persons.
