Appointees To Udom: We Are Suffering In Silence
1 min readSome members of the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council say the completion agenda of the state governor has drained their office imprest and other financial entitlements that used to come to their office.
A commissioner who earlier served Senator Godswill Akpabio in his first and second term, confided in our correspondent that “you have to show working and create something that will interest the governor, else you only wait for your salary.
You know Udom is not a politician, he does not believe in spending. He only thinks of investments, so if your ministry does not have strong potentials for investment that is related to his policy thrust, you only survive on your salary.”
A member of one of the boards in the state who spoke in the same vein rather accused the governor of giving lucrative ministries to his kinsmen and those he described as ‘Lagos returnees’, with particular reference to the ministry of works, which is headed by Ephraim Inyang, his kinsman from Awa, in Onna Local Government and ministry of special duties and Ibom Deep Sea Port by Mr. Akan Okon whom he described as Lagos returnee.
