Just like many Rivers people, a chieftain of the APC in the state, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has lambasted the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over what has now been described as a one-sided peace overture to the state governor, Sim Fubara.

During the weekend, Wike and his followers had met at the home of Chief Fedinand Anabraba who leads a faction of the state elders forum loyal to Wike, with members of the state house of assembly loyal to Wike, as well as National Assembly members and other political leaders who are also loyal to the FCT minister.

But nobody from Fubara’s camp, not even the house of assembly who are sympathetic to Fubara, was at the meeting that was supposed to be a reconciliatory meeting. Since Sunday when the meeting took place, the minister has come under attack.
The people question the absence of Fubara’s men from the meeting and hold the view that Wike is merely trying to torment the governor and was not serious about genuine peace in the state.
Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a chieftain of the APC and an ally of a former minister of transportation, said in an online interview with TNN that what happened on Sunday was “not any peace meeting but a show of arrogance by an Emperor showcasing his Team that have conquered Rivers State politically.
“Wike by doing this without allowing both the SSG, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, Chief of Staff to Gov. Fubara, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie or Sir Tele Ikuru erstwhile Deputy Governor of Rivers State or any of the Elders that have supported Gov Fubara during the struggle to free Rivers State from the shackles of some undemocratic elements that wanted to stop the emancipation and development of Rivers State attending the so called Peace Meeting simply shows the meeting as shambolic, disgraceful, embarrassing, shameful, unacceptable and worthless.

“Though, Nyesom Wike have never be known as a peaceable fellow so if anyone thinks that this meeting was for any peace then such a fellow doesn’t know who Wike is. With the calibre of persons in that meeting, the aim of such a meeting should be very visible even to any blind man.
“The meeting is simply targeted at cornering the resources of Rivers State to themselves to the detriment of the development of Rivers State. Apart from this the meeting was nothing but to intimidate the Governor and to impose some of undemocratic elements on him as his commissioners and aides.
Eze said compelling Fubara to attend the meeting without any of his supports had exposed Wike “as a tyrant and a nepotistic leader. It is left to the generality of Rivers State to find a way to free themselves and the State from such band of unprogressive elements.
“As much as I may not blame Fubara so much for this messy situation putting into consideration how he found himself in this situation, I will urge all and sundry to continue to pray for him for divine wisdom to find a way out of this sad situation.”
He said the president, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in partnership with Wike, had made Rivers State a laughing stock in the comity of democratic and civilized nations.
