Amidst Hunger, C’River APC Loyalists Make Case For Appointments

1 min read

As hunger bites harder in Cross River State as it is in other parts of the country, some of those who fought for, supported and secured victory for the governor, Senator Bassey Otu have appealed to him to consider appointing them into vacant positions in the state.

One of the persons, a chieftain of the APC in the state, said in an interview that many of the APC members were having the feeling of frustration and had looked forward to getting appointments as reward for the sacrifices they made during last year’s election.

The APC member who hails from the southern senatorial district of the state said “there is hunger in this state. I had thought that by now, our governor would have made it possible for us to enjoy some sweetness through appointments.

“Some appointments have been made though. But there are still hundreds of vacant positions that need to be filled. We have qualified and capable APC members as well as other Cross Riverians that need to be appointed. Our governor should please do the needful because there is so much hunger in the land.” Noting that the governor was doing well since he took over office, the politician said it would be of immense benefit to him and the state if more hands are engaged to run the government. He said the governor should consider the poverty level in the state and do the needful
