Akpabio Approves NDDC Director As New Acting EDFA?

Is it true that the Minister of Niger Delta has approved the elevation of the current director of finance to the position of acting Executive Director, Finance and Administration?

Sources within the commission told TNN on Thursday night that Akpabio endorsed the appointment, following the death of Mr Ibanga Bassey who died in the early hours of Thursday. The cause of his death has remained unknown.

A message circulating on a WhatsApp platform of NDDC staff indicated that the acting EDFA is to resume immediately and work as essential duty staff.

He is also expected tone in charge of NDDC treasury and all accounts, perform all roles, duties and responsibilties of the former Ag.EDFA.

It was also learnt that the man will handle essential duties such as emergency payments and other financial matters during the two weeks shut down.

However, press secretary to the minister of Niger Delta, Mr Anietie Ekong told TNN that he was not aware of the development.
