The Supreme Court of Nigeria is yet to announce a date for judgement in the case between the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno and a former aspirant of the PDP for the governorship seat, Mr Akan Okon.

Okon is contesting the candidacy of the PDP with Eno whom he accused of preventing forged certificates to INEC, an allegation that Eno had since countered.

The matter has since been decided in favour of Eno, by the apex court. But after Okon moved for a review of the case, the apex court consented and even questioned the appeal court for taking a decision on the matter when relevant documents were not transmitted from the originating court.

After the apex court heard the case afresh, there were high hopes that it would give judgement based on the review, even before the May 29 hand over date.

During the week, there were speculations that the apex court was to give judgement on Thursday, but that never happened. Both parties are now waiting anxiously for a judgement date that will be announced by the Supreme Court.
