A’Ibom Rep Gives Joy To Disabled Persons                 

Some 200 persons living with disabilities had reasons to celebrate the Christmas in style, as the House of Representatives member from Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and chairman, Public Procurement Committee, Unyime Idem, decided to host them in his home at Ikot Udo Obobo, Ukanafun Local Government.

Apart from feeding them, Idem also gave them cash gifts in the spirit of the Christmas season, even as he distributed wheel chairs to some of them who needed the equipment.

He said the disabled persons were his VIPs and he needed to give them a treatment that befits very important persons. “I called you today to celebrate the season with you, and also to say thank you again for your continuous support and prayers for me.

You all are my VIPs so I don’t take you all for granted. Let me reiterate my promise not to leave any of you behind in my plans,” Idem said, adding that he would continue to thing about their welfare.

Chairman of the Association of People Living with Disabilities in Ukanafun, Inemesit Uko Thomas, and the Secretary of the association in Oruk Anam chapter, Ekereobong Iwok, in their separate speeches appreciated Idem for the gesture and finding them worty to eat with him despite their physical challenges.
