The Administrator of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr. Kingsley N. Banigo, has announced the launch of a 100 million naira youth empowerment programme.
Banigo also pledged to provide a utility vehicle and a welfare package of one million naira to the Bonny Youth Federation BYF, who he gave the responsibility of coordinating the distribution of the empowerment application forms.

The administrator revealed this at the council secretariat on Monday, when he played host to the central executive council of the BYF, led by Mr. Anthony Banigo.
According to him, the empowerment programme was designed to support young entrepreneurs and small business owners in Bonny, including across the 35 chieftaincy houses in the kingdom.
Banigo announced that, “the initiative will provide a grant of one million naira to qualified young business owners from each Chieftaincy House. The Bonny Youth Federation will coordinate the distribution of application forms and make recommendations.”
The administrator further emphasised on transparency and merit, stressing that “only young entrepreneurs with verifiable businesses will be considered for the grants.”
In his remark, BYF leader, Mr. Anthony Banigo congratulated the administrator on his appointment by the State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.), and commended his efforts over what he described as maintaining a clean and organized Bonny LGA.
“We are here to appreciate you for all the work you have done since assuming office, especially your commitment to keeping Bonny clean.”
He lauded the youth empowerment programme as a significant achievement of the current administration and appealed for support in logistics and welfare for the federation. “We will continue to support your administration. As a non-partisan body, you can count on us to be available whenever called upon.”
