Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, has accused the transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi of plotting to stop the election of Worgu Boms as National Vice Chairman, South-south at the forthcoming convention of the All Progressive Congress (APC) by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Abe, in a statement by his spokesperson, Parry Saroh Benson said, the Amaechi has been moving from court to court looking for a judge that will grant him an injunction to stop Worgu Boms from contesting in the election.
The senator wondered why those who profess to be democrats would not allow the people to have a say in a democracy.
Abe said: “We are aware that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has been shopping for a court order, an injunction to stop Barrister Worgu Boms from contesting as National Vice Chairman, South-south at the forthcoming APC National Convention in Abuja.
“He is also planning to send people to demonstrate at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja as part of his campaign to stop Barrister Worgu Boms.
“We feel that those who profess to be democrats should allow the people to have a say in a democracy.
“They should take their matter to the convention and let the delegates decide”.
