Senior Special Adviser to the Cross River State governor on Think Cross River Project, Papa Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe, has warned against false reports of multiple accidents involving the deputy governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey.
Enamhe gave this warning in a statement made available to TNN, where he debunked claims of three accidents involving the deputy governor’s convoy.
He declared that Odey was safe. According to him, the only accident that occurred, involving the deputy governor’s convoy happened on their way back from the North of the state.
His words: “I travelled with His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt Hon Peter Odey, that day on our way back from the North of Cross River State .
“There was only one accident. It involved the last vehicle in the convoy; the government house press bus. From what we observed, the bus appeared to have suffered brake failure and ran into an army checkpoint.
“A few occupants sustained minor injuries. No serious injury was recorded, and we thank God. We are still awaiting confirmation on whether the accident resulted from a mechanical fault or driver error.”
He reaffirmed that “the deputy governor is safe. Neither his vehicle nor any other vehicle in the convoy was involved.
“The report of “three accidents in the convoy” is false. The only other incident people may be referring to occurred in June, when the Press Secretary, Barr. Fred Abua, had an accident during a private family trip. It was not connected to the convoy.
“Let us avoid spreading unverified reports that may cause panic or affect the mental well-being of our loved ones. Please verify information before posting.”
