Body Of Drowned Pastor Found At Brass River

The body of the clergyman who drowned alongside his wife in a boat mishap while on a missionary voyage in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Friday has been found.

The deceased couple have been identified as Rev. Canon Ovie-King Omoyibo and Mrs. Ruth Omoyibo.

According to local sources, the remains of the clergyman was found on Sunday morning while the body of his spouse was discovered immediately after the incidence on Friday and had since been deposited in a mortuary.

It was learnt that the boat carrying the late couple and other passengers was hit by strong turbulence due to wave from the Atlantic Ocean, causing the fibre speed boat to capsize.

While other passengers onboard swam across unhurt, the missionary couple were not so lucky.

The deceased man of God hailed from Uzere community in Isoko South local government area of Delta State.

Untill his untimely death, late Omoyibo was the resident pastor of the Anglican Church, Odioama in brass local government area of Bayelsa State.
