Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara arrived the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, accompanied by his wife, Lady Valerie Fubara, as well as his chief of staff, Edison Ehie, before moving to the Government House, where he announced that the state will hear from him this Friday evening.
Fubara had been expected to arrive in the state on Thursday, but he did not show up. At the airport to receive him were his deputy, Prof Ngozi Odu, the commissioners that served under him as well as hundreds of fans and supporters.

But the newly elected local government chairmen as well as members of the house of assembly whose loyalty is first to Nyesom Wike, were not at the airport.
The governor only spoke for a few minutes as he got to the Government House, expressing shock at the kind of reception he got on arrival.
He also said he was humbled after watching the crowd that stormed the Government House on Thursday to receive him, even though he could not make it to the state.
Fubara said he would address the state in a broadcast around 6pm on Friday, to be able to properly thank all those who sacrifices their time and resources to receive him.
